Study Procedures

Basic Study Procedures Include:

-Interviews: Here you will sit down with a professional psysician, psychiatrist, psychologist and be interviewed about both your mental and physical health. Common interviews include rating scales like the PANNS( Positive and Negative Symptom Scale) and MADRS(Montgomery Ashberg Depression Rating Scale). These Interviews will be used to initially determine your level of illness as well as your improvement in the study and eligibility for a study.

- Surveys: Surveys regarding your level of well being, quality of life, as well as your satisfaction with various medications. These surveys are primarily used to create statistical data about various populations.

- Physical Exams: A basic Physical Examination Conducted by a physician to assess your physical well being as well as determine your eligibility for the study. They may include more specific exams directed at targeting various symptoms of psychoactive medications such as reflexes and tremors as well as basic health.

- Vitals: Basic medical information such as pulse, blood pressure, weight , waist, and temperature. These are generally gathered once per visit.

- ECG: Otherwise known as an electrocardiogram is a recording of your heart�s electrical rhythm also referred to as a QT interval.

- Blood Draws: Small quantities of blood will be taken for lab purposes to obtain information such as blood sugar, thyroid function, or blood cell count.

- Urine Specimen: Specimen is used for test such as drug screens, pregnancy, and checking if your sytem is clear of other psychoactive medications.
